One app, two lenses

Most senior apps are either monitoring (clinical, surveillance-flavored) or assistance (no family loop). WeCare is both at once — the same shared moment, seen two ways.

For the senior

An AI secretary

You speak; it remembers. You point a camera; it reads. You take a medication; it reminds you. Empowering, not patronizing.

A senior with a secretary is a CEO, not a patient.
For the family

A rundown on Mom, between meetings

“Yes, she took her morning pills.” “She's been up and moving since 7.” “She tapped I Need Help at the store — here's where she is.”

Signal, not another task on your already-full plate.

AI was supposed to make hard things easier. The hardest things come with age.

WeCare is what AI looks like when seniors are the first user — not the accessibility afterthought. Patient, voice-first, and built around how aging at home actually works.

Why we built WeCare

WeCare started in one family. Jenny was caring for two aging parents — juggling medications, appointments, and the quiet daily worry — while the AI revolution sailed right past the people who'd benefit most from it. So she, her daughter Megan, and a small engineering team set out to build the assistant they wished their family had.

Megan looks at the whole experience through a new-generation lens, shaped by both family and academic research — she has volunteered in a hospital since her freshman year, drawn to senior care research. Together: a family that lives the problem, building patiently for the people we love.

What it does

Five everyday needs of aging at home, in one senior-shaped app.

💊

Medications, handled

Add a medicine by scanning the label or just speaking to it. Friendly full-screen reminders read each dose aloud — and the family sees what was taken.

🗣️

Just say it — AI reminders

Ramble naturally: “pick up my prescription tomorrow, call Mary Tuesday, doctor Friday at 2.” WeCare turns it into organized reminders. No typing, no commands.

👁️

Read for Me

Point the camera at a letter, label, or menu and WeCare reads it aloud — and quietly warns you if something looks like a scam. Built for fading eyes.

🛟

Gentle safety net

A one-tap I Need Help shares your location with family (it calls them — not 911). And if a quiet day goes by with no activity, WeCare checks in with a simple “Are you OK?”

👪

Family in the loop

Pair with a family member in seconds. They can send a check-in question, suggest a plan, and get a calm daily picture — without the senior managing anything.

🌅

A warm morning rundown

Each morning WeCare greets the senior and reads what's on their day — meds, reminders, a note from family. The AI serves the senior, not the other way around.

How pairing works

Simple setup — no technical knowledge required, and the family member doesn't even need the app.

1

In the app, the senior (or a helper setting it up) enters a family member's name and phone number.

2

That family member gets a one-time text from WeCare Assistants and replies with the 6-digit code (YES-XXXXXX) to confirm. That's their opt-in.

3

From then on they get alerts when they're needed — a missed dose, an “I Need Help” tap, or a long quiet stretch — by push and SMS.

SMS Opt-In & Compliance

WeCare Assistants only sends SMS messages to contacts who have explicitly opted in by replying with the unique 6-digit confirmation code (YES-XXXXXX) to our one-time pairing message. We never send marketing or promotional messages.

Message frequency: One opt-in confirmation per pairing, plus an alert message only when the senior needs help. Frequency varies by usage.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will be unsubscribed immediately and will not receive further messages.

For help: Reply HELP to any message, or email support@wecareassistants.com.
